I was an active sportswoman from a young age with swimming and running being a big part of my life. Running and staying active is currently still a big passion of mine which I do almost daily. I have a passion for sports nutrition with a focus on helping athletes achieve their best results by optimising their nutrition. I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the Association for Dietitians in South Africa (ADSA). I have served on the ADSA Eastern Cape Branch Committee in the past. My absolute passion is to help people establish a balanced lifestyle by eating wholesome foods and finding the exercise levels that suit them best.
All individuals have unique medical and nutritional needs. Consultations are on a one-on-one basis, where dietary goals and objectives will be discussed and decided upon. Your unique lifestyle, as well as “likes and dislikes” in food are taken into consideration, while each consultation is specifically tailored to meet your unique and individual needs. During the initial consultation, an assessment will be performed. This involves getting the following information from you:
This is where the patient`s body weight, height, waist and hip circumference and other body measurements will be taken and analysed.
A diet history from the past few weeks as well as a food frequency questionnaire will be used to analyse the patient`s current dietary habits.
The patient`s most recent blood results (received from their doctor), including blood glucose, HbA1c, cholesterol and lipid profile, together with various other factors will be analysed and taken into account when formulating a specific meal plan for you.
The patient`s activity level and exercise habits will also
be discussed and taken into account when formulating a
meal plan for the patient.
Any gastrointestinal disturbances will be taken into account when formulating a meal plan for the patient.
The patient`s short and long term goals will also be
discussed.

The innocent, protein and nutrient-rich egg has been attacked for too long, and it’s time we all see the egg for what it’s really worth! Eggs have been very restrictive in the past due to their high cholesterol levels. Over the years the restrictions have loosened a bit, but eggs’ unhealthful reputation has been hard to shake and has people confused all around.
Hydration – a term used to indicate that a substance contain water. “Hydration is important because the body is comprised mostly of water, and the proper balance between water and electrolytes in our bodies really determines how most of our systems function, including nerves and muscles,” says Larry Kenney, PhD, a professor of physiology and kinesiology.
